Hockley Heroes Update

July 30, 2014

‘…they say that a hero could save us, I’m not gonna stand here and wait’

Nickelback

Our Hockley Heroes can be heard singing their unofficial theme song on Sunday evenings, in the heart of Toronto—often in celebration of another victory in their summer hockey league. Taking the lyrics to heart, the Heroes sure didn’t ‘stand and wait’ in their inaugural summer hockey season, capitalizing on the momentum of a late season, five-game winning streak and finishing first place in the regular season.

The season started slow for our Heroes but as the games wore on, chemistry was established between line mates, big saves were made, and some dazzling goals were scored—ultimately leading the team to victory!

Growing with the Heroes’ ability to outscore their opponents was the team’s newfound tradition of awarding a delicious Hockley tallboy to the player of the game. According to the team’s Captain, almost all of the players on the team have had a turn accepting the honour and enjoying the signature Hockley pint o’ glory—a testament to the team-first attitude the Heroes have.

We wish our Heroes the very best of luck in their quest for a playoff championship and hope their regular season momentum carries them right to the top! We can’t wait to hear all about it.

Go Heroes Go !!!
